Players To Watch

Claire Vermette

Defending Coke Dr Pepper Open champion Claire Vermette returns to the field this week, seeking her second professional victory.

The St. Petersburg, Fla., native graduated from Jacksonville State University and became the first Gamecock to qualify for the U.S. Women’s Amateur in 2023. During her time at Jax State, Vermette earned First-Team All-Conference for four years, and was named the winner of the Female Eagle Owl Award in 2023, given annually to the top senior student-athlete in all sports at JSU.

Vermette carried that success into her professional career, capturing her first win at this event to open the 2025 season. She then followed with a T6 finish at the Lake Charles Regional Sports Authority Championship and a T10 at the Taco Bell Natchez Classic.

Coming off a T11 finish at the 2026 Lake Charles Regional Sports Authority Championship, Vermette looks to carry that momentum into the second week of the season.

Jasmine Lew

A standout throughout her collegiate career, Jasmine Lew made an immediate impact at the University of California, Berkley, finishing tied for third in her debut tournament at the Juli Inkster Invitational with a 1-under performance, including an opening-round 69. She went on to earn WGCA All-American Scholar honors and was named to the Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll.

During her junior season, she continued to show consistency, highlighted by a season-best 3-under round at the Stanford Intercollegiate and a top-20 finish at the Molly Collegiate Invitational.

Prior to college, she enjoyed a highly decorated junior career, earning multiple victories on the AJGA, including wins at the AJGA Coto de Caza Championship (11-under par) and the AJGA Tukwet Canyon event. She also captured the Golfweek NorCal Championship and was a two-time CIF City Finals champion.

Lew is now off to a strong start in the 2026 season, coming off a runner-up finish at the Lake Charles Regional Sports Authority Championship. She battled through a five-hole playoff with Kaitlyn Papp before being eliminated with a bogey on the fifth hole.
