Field Breakdown: 2026 Pierce Furniture Women’s Open presented by Abilene CVB

The ANNIKA Women’s All Pro Tour continues its Texas stretch this week at the Pierce Furniture Open presented by Abilene CVB, taking place May 5–7 in Abilene, Texas.

Abilene Country Club returns to the schedule for the fifth consecutive year and has become a familiar stop for many athletes competing on tour.

This week’s field features more than 90 players, all competing for valuable Callaway Race to Qualifying points. In addition, the top two finishers will earn exemptions into the Epson Tour’s Copper Rock Championship, set for May 11–17 in Hurricane, Utah.

Here’s a look at a few players to watch this week:

Kate Villegas

Kate Villegas of Arcadia, Calif., has put together an impressive start to the 2026 season, recording a fifth-place finish at the Lake Charles Regional Sports Authority Championship before following it up with a runner-up finish at the Coke Dr Pepper Open. Her strong early-season performances have moved her into third place in the Callaway Race to Qualifying standings.

The UCLA graduate also enjoyed a standout amateur career highlighted by victories at the 2023 Southern California Women’s Championship and the 57th California Women’s Amateur Championship. Villegas additionally earned runner-up honors at the 2023 U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship.

During the 2023–24 season at UCLA, Villegas received All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention recognition and was the only Bruin golfer to compete in the starting lineup for all 12 stroke-play events and both match-play competitions.

Yeji Kwon

Yeji Kwon has also emerged as one of the top performers early in the 2026 ANNIKA WAPT season, recording a tie for sixth at the Coke Dr Pepper Open before finishing runner-up at last week’s Taco Bell Natchez Classic.
