Muirhead takes home the title at the US Restoration Northshore Championship

(Mandeville, LA) – As the first event of the 2024 ANNIKA Women’s All Pro Tour season has come to a close, a new era has begun. With the US Restoration Northshore Championship now claiming a new winner, standards are set for the remainder of the season. With the challenging course layout and strong winds throughout the week, players had to find ways to navigate the 72 hole competition. Alison Muirhead (Scotland) was among those who used the conditions to her advantage, allowing her to walk away with the title.

Muirhead, who missed the cut in last year’s event, conveyed her perseverance as she was the only one to finish in red for the tournament. Turning in scores of 73, 67, 70 and 72 for a total of 6-under, the Scotland native showed no trepidation, holding solid to her lead throughout the final round. Muirhead birdied her first hole to get the momentum started allowing her to be 1-under on the front nine. She then carded 1-over, 37 on the back nine for an even par score in round 4.

“It’s surreal. I’m just taking it all in and I just really enjoyed today,” said Muirhead. “It’s a surreal moment and you know I missed the cut last year and then won here today, it’s definitely a different feeling.”

Finishing in second was Nannette Hill (Jupiter, FL) who turned in a 1-over 73 for the final round. Hill, who had five circles on her card, seemed to struggle with consistency on the back nine with a double-bogey on hole 11 and bogeying the last three holes.

However, with her second place finish, Hill and Muirhead both have exemptions into EPSON Tour’s IOA Championship held April 26-28.
